(a[sup]-2[/sup] - b[sup]-2[/sup])/(a[sup]-1[/sup] - b[sup]-1[/sup])) = (a[sup]-1[/sup] - b[sup]-1[/sup])(a[sup]-1[/sup] + b[sup]-1[/sup])/(a[sup]-1[/sup] - b[sup]-1[/sup]) = a[sup]-1[/sup] + b[sup]-1[/sup].

Unnskyld, men jeg skjønner ikke hva du mener. Skal svaret ditt bli a[sup]-1[/sup] + b[sup]-1[/sup]? Det er helt feil!
Prøv dette da:
(a[sup]-2[/sup] - b[sup]-2[/sup]) / (a[sup]-1[/sup] - b[sup]-1[/sup])) = ((1/a[sup]2[/sup]) - (1/b[sup]2[/sup])) / ((1/a) - (1/b)) =
( (b*a[sup]3[/sup]) - (b[sup]3[/sup] * a) ) / ( (b[sup]2[/sup] * a[sup]3[/sup]) - ( b[sup]3[/sup] * a[sup]2[/sup]) ) =
Faktoriser uttrykkene over og under brøkstreken og forkort:
(a * b * (a - b) * (a + b)) / (a[sup]2[/sup] * b[sup]2[/sup] * (a - b)) =
(a + b) / (a * b)
