Oppgaven 1 er :
"Oglesby(1977) investigated the relationship between annual fish yield (Y) and summer phytoplankton chorophyll concentration (C). Fish yield was measured in grams dry weight per square meter and per year, and the chlorophyll concentration was measured in micrograms per liter. Data from 19 lakes, mostly in the northern hemisphere, yielded the following relationship:
log[sub]10[/sub]Y = 1.17 log[sub]10[/sub]C - 1.92 "
c : "Find the predicted yield (Y[sub]p[/sub]) as a function of the current yield (Y[sub]c[/sub]) if the current summer phytoplankton chlorophyll concentration were to double".
d : "By what percentage would the summer phytoplankton chlorophyll concentration need to increase to obtain a 10% increase in fish yield?"
Oppgave 2 har tekst:
"The speed of an enzymatic reaction is frequently described by the Michaelis-Menten equation
where v is the velocity of the reaction, x is the concentration of the substrate, a is the maximum reaction velocity, and k is the substrate concentration at which the velocity is half of the maximum velocity. This curve describes how the reaction velocity depends on the substrate concentration. "
Problemet her er deloppgave b:
"Show that an 81-fold change in substrate concentration is needed to change the velocity, regardless of the value of k". Hva betyr 81-fold change?
